10-Gb DWDM OTU-2 Transport Processor with G.709 FEC, SONET/SDH/10-GbE Performance Monitor
The BCM8512 is Broadcom's third-generation DWDM transport processor that integrates a G.709 Digital Wrapper, G.975 Forward Error Correction (FEC), OC-192/STM-64 SONET/SDH performance monitor, 10 GE performance monitor and a 10 Gigabit transceiver into a single chip.
The integrated 10 Gigabit transceiver leverages the analog design of Broadcom's X-PHY™ family of 0.13um transceivers, which have demonstrated the industry's best in class jitter performance. The 10G Serial interface on the BCM8512 is XFI compliant and supports data rates from 9.953 Gbps to 11.1 Gbps. The BCM8512 has an ultra-low power consumption of 2.0W.
